It’s Christmas!

We wake up early since we’re still not fully over the jet lag, there are no presents to unwrap because our trip is our present!

We can’t decide what to do for breakfast, and there aren’t many options since it’s Christmas Day, so we go to the hotel restaurant. After breakfast, I take the kids for a walk to the Botanical Gardens while Diana washes her hair and gets ready for Christmas lunch.

We do a lap of the gardens, it’s lovely and cool under the shade. On our way out we spot some electric scooters which lots of people have been riding and decide to ride them for a bit. I download the app and manage to hire 3, so we have one each, and we go on another lap of the gardens which was fun.

The scooters done, we walked back to the hotel via an EzyMart and cafe for coffee. Once back to the hotel we got ready for lunch and checked out.

We’d booked into the hotel Christmas lunch which was a seafood buffet. I wasn’t expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised. Lots of shrimp, muscles and oysters which were delicious, and we made the most of it all! There was turkey, ham and the usual trimmings and a visit from Santa. Alex received a harmonica and Bella nail polish. They both got stuck into using them while we finished our lunch.

After lunch, we called a taxi and headed to the airport. We had quite a while to wait and Diana and I managed to get an upgrade to business class, so we could use the lounge.

I managed to lose our boarding passes between arriving at the lounge and boarding at the gate, but the very understanding staff printed us some new ones!

Another turkey dinner on the flight, and an impressive light show from the nearby storm before arriving into Adelaide around 10pm.

It’s quite cold here, about 15 degrees, and we’re wondering if we packed for this. Taxi to the hotel and then Straight to bed, opting to catch up with the Boshier’s tomorrow rather than tonight.
