Today we’re off to Chris in Yarrawarrah. Craig has kindly lent us his car for the day, so we take public transport to Craig’s house and pick up the car first thing.

We then drive down the highway, stopping at a shopping mall to buy gifts for Chris’ girls. We arrive to a warm welcome at Chris’ house, where we meet his family and catch up with his parents, who I haven’t seen in years.

Once we get organised, we head out to the Karloo walking trail, stopping at a cafe for a quick lunch on the way. The trail is beautiful, classic Australian bushland with eucalyptus trees and a rocky creek. We walk for about 45 mins before arriving at an enticing swimming hole. The kids are worried about crocs, so they take a little convincing to get in, but once they do, they have a great time. The water is cold, but refreshing, and we enjoy swimming and relaxing.

After the swim, we hike back up to the car and head back to Chris’ house. We have a lovely dinner with his family, including his parents, who are visiting from the UK. It’s great to catch up with them all and we reminisce about old times.

We drive back to Craig’s house to drop off the car and then take an Uber back to the hotel. It’s been a long but enjoyable day, and we’re grateful to Chris and his family for their hospitality.
