And we’re off!
A 5:30 am wake up call and we walked to the tube and took tue Piccadilly line to Heathrow.
Diana had upgraded us to Premium Economy as a treat and she surprised the kids on the train, they were very happy!
With a very smooth transit through the airport and pit stop at Pret, we were waiting at the gate.
The flight was busy but Diana had checked us in the minute checkin opened, so we had four seats next to each other in the centre row.
It’s early evening in Japan, so we were served dinner and then Diana and I tried to get some sleep. The kids stayed up later, and Alex didn’t sleep at all! He drank the galley out of Coca Cola and watched movies all night!
I managed to get a few hours of sleep after trying to sleep all night. The cabin crew served us a welcome breakfast before we filled out our landing cards. After landing we swiftly transited through passport control, collected our luggage and jumped in a taxi.
Diana had booked the hotel from the night before since we were arriving at 6am and expected to want showers and to freshen up.
The taxi driver was very polite and we drove through some of the suburbs of Tokyo before pulling up at the Shiba Park Hotel.
The end to a long journey and just the start of our adventure…
