Today is a travel day, but we’re not flying until this evening, so today we’ll go to the beach after we check out from the hotel.
I’d told the children to be ready at 8am, but had forgotten to set my alarm and overslept. They had diligently got ready in time, but they did have to come and find out where we’d got to, so we ended up going down for breakfast around 10am.
The hotel had a massive buffet breakfast with everything; I stuck with Balinese and tried some freshly made local breakfast cakes along with the usual.
After breakfast, we packed our things and checked out, leaving our luggage at reception. We walked down to the beach and used the last of our cash to pay for sunbeds. It was a beautifully sunny day and I went for a swim in the sea.
We spent the next couple of hours reading and got some takeaway snacks from a nearby restaurant before heading back to the hotel around 2:30pm. Wayan had told us to allow 4 hours before our flight, as traffic can be unpredictable.
We’d pre-booked a taxi at reception the day before, and it was waiting for us on time. Traffic didn’t seem too bad, and we arrived at the airport with plenty of time.
After checking in, we had an early dinner before boarding. Thankfully, everything was on time today; we’re just keeping our fingers crossed that the luggage makes it all the way to London!
